How to Record Vocals in FL Studio
Start recording high-quality vocals in FL Studio. Follow these steps to set up your mic and capture your best performance.
This tutorial guides you through the process of setting up your microphone and recording audio directly into the Playlist. You will learn how to configure your interface and manage your recordings efficiently.
Follow these steps
Configure Your Audio Driver
Go to Audio Settings and ensure your ASIO driver (like FL Studio ASIO) is selected. This reduces the delay between your voice and the speakers.
Select Your Mic Input
Select an empty Mixer track. Use the drop-down menu at the top right of the Mixer to select your microphone input (e.g., In 1).
Arm the Track
Click the 'Arm for Record' button (the small circle) at the bottom of the Mixer track. It will turn red, indicating it is ready.
Start the Recording
Click the Record button in the main transport bar and select 'Everything' or 'Audio, into the playlist as an audio clip.' The countdown will begin.
Common mistakes
- Recording with the 'Master' track effects turned on, which causes distracting lag.
- Forgetting to select an Input, resulting in no audio being captured.
